Hearing Voices
Hearing voices, or auditory visual hallucinations(AVH), is defined as hearing the speech of someone or something that is not due to a physical cause, in other words when the origin of the voice is not physical present. This does not have to be limited exclusively to talking, as some will experience the hearing of other sounds like music.
Why do people hear voices? There can be many reasons why someone hears voices. You may find certain situations or environment trigger your voices, for example when you feel stresses or sleepy , falling asleep or having high temperature. There are other mental health conditions that can lead to hearing voices, including: severe depression, bipolar, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia and psychosis….
Some people describe hearing pleasant voices, but for many people, the voices are unwanted, intrusive, negative, critical, or threatening. People often say that these difficult voices can make them feel worried, frightened, down, embarrassed or frustrated. they can also make it hard to concentrate or be around other people or get in the way of doing day-to-day things. The experience of hearing voices can be very different from person to person and it can change over time. Voices might be experienced inside the head, or outside the head. It can be the voice of someone recognizable or familiar or be unknown. there might be many voices, or just one or two. they can be loud, or quiet like a whisper. Sometimes They are just brief and sometimes very persistent..
This type of voice hearing is one of the most debilitating, with the voices criticizing the hearer for their past misdeeds.
These voices describe all the actions and activities performed by the hearer, including their thoughts and feelings.
The person wo hears such voices are often given direct instructions by them, which may or may not be followed through.
